Our employees share already - why will an advocacy tech platform help?

If your company’s employees are already sharing brand content organically, it’s a great indicator of a good cultural fit for a more structured advocacy programme in your company. The value in rolling out a formal programme is to use the tech and methodology that sits behind it to scale up, measure results and build a sustainable approach.

Candidates are 40% more likely to put in an application if they are familiar with the company brand according to a recent Glassdoor report, so for talent acquisition getting an employee advocacy programme in place will have huge benefits. Here are some reasons to get started from Qubist’s experience working with the UK’s leading brands.

It is estimated Facebook will close in on 2 billion monthly users by the middle of this year. That’s the total population of China, the US and Russia combined, and then some. It raked in $27.6 billion in total revenue for 2016 and its last quarter in 2016 beat most analysts’ predictions with a strong profit of $3.568 billion.

It’s easy to watch the latest cat gif in bed in the morning and forget how ubiquitous the social network is and how it’s permeated so many of our lives. It was 2003, when Mark Zuckerburg at Harvard changed a programme he had created as a second-year student from Facemash to Thefacebook.

What is Advocate Marketing anyway?

This is where consumers or employees are explaining your brand to other consumers.

The art of Advocate Marketing is to encourage people who like your brand to talk about you more to others. These people can be fans of your brand, people who’ve just recently picked up on you or people who aspire to your brand in some way. They can also be employee advocates.

At the heart of advocate marketing is turning a satisfied customer into a superfan; someone who speaks about you positively, enjoys a better customer experience and, in turn, creates a new pipeline of customers for you. Or inspiring an engaged employee into a vocal brand advocate.

By doing advocate marketing well, you’re encouraging customer retention, while greatly increasing your customer acquisition rate.
